Dr. Walid Hassan

WALID A HASSAN (PhD, IEEE Senior Member) was born in Basrah city in Iraq in 1981. He obtained his Ph.D. from University Technology Malaysia in 2012. He earned his master’s degree from the faculty of Electrical Engineering in 2009 from the same university. He obtained his B.Sc. from Benghazi University) Libya, faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (telecommunications major) in 2006.

He was a postdoctoral fellow at Universiti Technologi Malaysia in 2013 and 2017. He did a 2nd postdoctoral at Lakehead University in Thunderbay, ON, Canada in 2019.  He was also the head Communication Engineering Department at Basrah University College of Science and Technology in Iraq between 2013-2015.

Dr. Hassan has multiple publications in the area of frequency spectrum management, spectrum sharing methods, and cellular communication systems.

He is currently the director of Lambda Technology Corp. in Saskatoon, SK and the General Manager of Sage Computer Technologies in Saskatoon SK.
